This Privacy Policy explains what information MailboxTemp ("we", "us", "the Service") collects when you use mailboxtemp.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

MailboxTemp is a free disposable email service that provides temporary, anonymous inboxes. You can contact us at any time at support@mailboxtemp.com.

2. Information we collect

Disposable inbox data. When you generate an inbox, we store the temporary email address and any messages it receives (including sender, subject, body, and attachments) only until the inbox expires.
Account data (Pro only). If you choose to create a paid account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your plaintext password.
Payment data. Payments are processed by our payment providers (such as Stripe and, for crypto, NOWPayments). We do not store your full card or wallet details on our servers.
Technical & analytics data. Like most websites, our servers automatically log basic information such as IP address, approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP), the pages you visit, referring site, browser type, and request times. We use this for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and to understand our audience (aggregate traffic and visitor statistics).
Newsletter data. If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we store the email address you provide and your approximate country, so we can send relevant updates. Subscribing is entirely optional and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Payment data. Payments are processed by our payment providers (such as Stripe and, for crypto, NOWPayments). We do not store your full card or wallet details on our servers.

3. How we use information

To operate the Service — generating inboxes and delivering received mail to you in real time.
To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse, and to keep the Service secure.
To understand our audience through aggregate visitor analytics (e.g. how many visitors and which countries).
To send newsletter updates to subscribers who opted in, and (where relevant) to inform them of offers.
To process subscriptions and provide Pro features to paying users.
To display advertising that helps keep the free service free (see below).

4. Data retention

Disposable inboxes and their messages are automatically and permanently deleted when the inbox expires (one hour for free inboxes, 24 hours for Pro, unless extended). A scheduled cleanup process removes expired data, including stored attachments. Account and billing records for Pro users are kept for as long as the account exists and as required by law.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to remember your current inbox, your theme preference, and, for Pro users, your login session. Our advertising partners may also set cookies as described below.

6. Advertising and Google AdSense

We show ads on the free version of the Service through Google AdSense and may use other ad partners.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Pro users do not see ads.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform to ask for your consent to the use of cookies for personalized advertising before such cookies are set. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the consent banner.

7. Third-party services

We rely on trusted third parties to run the Service, including hosting providers, Google AdSense (advertising), and Stripe / NOWPayments (payments). Each processes data under its own privacy policy.

8. Your rights

Using a disposable inbox requires no account, and inbox contents self-delete on expiry. For the limited personal data we do hold — such as analytics logs, newsletter subscriptions, or Pro account details — you may request access or deletion at any time by emailing support@mailboxtemp.com. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe from any email or via that address. Depending on your location, you may have rights under the GDPR or similar laws to access, correct, or erase your data.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
